I think pets come into our lives to teach us to be faithful and loyal, or at least remind us how to be both faithful and loyal. No matter what I am doing, Riley is in the midst of it, waiting patiently (mostly) for me to finish and give him some attention, or at least acknowledge his presence. I was organizing, sorting, repacking a cupboard in the basement...and there he was, in the middle of the unpacked linen...just waiting and watching. He is by my side where ever I go. I have decided that I have to be faithful and true to my beliefs...otherwise I am not being honest or loyal with myself, and fence-sitting does not accomplish anything. It is a year of standing up for what I believe in.
